Cucumber Shop

The purpose of Cucumber Shop is to provide open-pollinated and rare cucumber varieties.

Currently, all cucumber varieties that I offer are cucumber-melon varieties (melons botanically and cucumbers agriculturally).

What to expect when you make your order: High quality seed that will produce delicious cucumbers. Seed packets are labeled, with directions on the back.

Sample seed packets contain 24 seeds and are priced at $1.50 per packet. Shipping is now only $2.50 per order in the U.S. (My Cost to ship a padded envelope USPS has recently increased to $2.32 + envelope, etc.)

Think of it as the first seed packet is $4.00 with free shipping and each additional seed packet costing $1.50.

Shipping to other countries is 7.00 (Unless vegetable seeds are not allowed).

Free seeds from my own vegetable seed collection are included in each order!

~Presprouting~
Higher germination can be achieved by presprouting seed. Presprouting is different from transplanting. While transplanting can stunt cucumber growth, presprouting can save growing time and help you achieve greater success in growing cucumbers. Below are pictures of one method of presprouting.

One method of presprouting cucumbers is to use a Ziploc & a paper towel

After folding the paper towel into fouths, insert the paper towel, then the seeds

Next- Add water to the paper towel (just enough to wet the paper towel). It is important to wring (or press) out any excess water before closing the ziploc bag. Too much water can make the seeds rot!

Next, put seeds in a warm (not hot) place and then hold the bag up to the light

Presprouted seeds should immediately be planted in their final location

If would like to know how to plant the presprouted seeds, please see my post about cucurbit seed placement.
